Local Lifewise Academy programs have participated in halloween parades and trick-or-treat events. Still, the family at the head of Lifewise doesn't agree with this and believes it’s worshiping the occult and paganism. Joel Penton, CEO of Lifewise Academy, doesn't allow his kids to dress up as ghosts because it’s pagan and glorifies the occult. Penton’s spouse explains how it’s ok to dress up as a dragon because they are cute, but ghosts and goblins are not. Never mind that the bible actually mentions dragons. Clearly this isn’t about trick-or-treating; it's about controlling kids.
Joel’s spouse also says they don't like celebrating holidays that aren't rooted in Christianity. Not sure which ones they exclude. 4th of July, Memorial Day, Thanksgiving?
The director of Lifewise Academy - Patrick Henry (Ohio), was invited to a halloween parade and turned it down, stating that Lifewise does not participate in “evil” things.
When you see Lifewise at a trick-or-treat and halloween events, know they are attending to boost enrollment, not to support children or the community. The family in control of Lifewise thinks it’s evil.
